DOUGLAS LEE ALFORD THE OREGONIAN Portland, Multnomah Co, OR—30 June 1913 EUGENE, Or., June 29—Douglas Alford, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Alford, was drowned in the Willamette River at Eugene today. He was swimming with two companions when he suddenly sank. One of the boys brought up the body quickly and physicians with a pulmotor were summoned, but efforts were futile. ~
