Sherod Valesco Burnett was the son of Alfred Burnett and Julia Jane Seaman. He was born March 18, 1839 in Biloxi, Harrison Co, MS. After moving to Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana he met and married Mary Elizabeth Gilley about 1870.
