Bio

Mr. John Nelson, of the Whitfield district was found dead in bed at the home of his son, Mr. C. L. Nelson, in the Whitfield district Monday night. The cause of his death was heart failure. Mr. Nelson had reached the advanced age of 84 years. He was a Confederate soldier and served through the struggle of 1861-1865 with honor and credit to himself and the cause he believed to be right. Mr. Nelson came to Pulaski county from Houston County many years ago with his family and settled in the Whitfield district where he has since lived. He reared a large family of boys, most of whom survive him. His wife preceded him to the grave several years ago, since her going away he has lived among and with his sons, making his home most of the time with his son, Charlie. He had been a member of the Primitive Baptist Church for a number of years and was a loyal and true members. He is survived by six sons, to-wit: J. T. Nelson, of Ashburn, F. M. Nelson, of Fort Valley, W. E. Nelson, of Dooly County, A. C. Nelson, C. L. Nelson and G. A.
