Obituary: Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm Monday at Kinney Chapel for Mrs. R.L. Lawhon, 75, who died Saturday night in a Granbury hospital. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery near here. Born in Kaufman County, Mrs. Lawhon had been a resident of Jones County since 1922. Surviving are four sons, Ernest L. Lawhon of Lubbock, Willie H. and Robert E. Lawhon of Granbury and Roy D. Lawhon of Dallas; seven daughters, Mrs. R.M. Follis of Sulphur Springs, Mrs. George D. Pierce of Granbury, Mrs. E.G. Simpkins of Odessa, Mrs. Gerald McElhaney of Denver, Mrs. A.A. Weems, Mrs. F.B. Thunderbird and Mrs. R.J. Simpkins, all of Stamford; 31 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. Source: Ft. The couple moved to Jones County in 1922 from Sulphur Springs, Texas. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survived by four sons - Ernest, William, Robert and Roy Lawhon; seven daughters - Mrs. R.M. Follis, Mrs. A.A. Seems, Mrs. F.B. Funderbird, Mrs. R.J. Simpkin, Mrs. George Pierce, Mrs. E.G. Simpkins and Mrs. Gerald McElhaney; 31 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four sisters.
