The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), January 19, 1956, p. 8, col. 4 & 5 Paul Kadavy, 64, David City Resident Since 1949, Dies Saturday Paul Kadavy, 64, a David City resident sine 1949, died at the David City Hospital on Jan. 14 after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, with Msgr. A. J. Lisko officiating. Six nephews, Emil, Joe, Anton, Leonard, Robert and Leo Kadavy, were pallbearers. Interment was in the Loma Cemetery. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kadavy, he was born on May 21, 1891, at Weston. His marriage to Josie Langbauer took place on June 20, 1916 at Dwight Assumption Church. He farmed near Loma for 36 years, and when his health failed in 1949 they came to David City to make their home. Seven children were born to the couple, one son, Ernest of Brainard, and six daughters, Mrs. Henry (Mildred) Sabata, Rising City; Mrs. James (Josephine) Belsan, Dwight, Mrs. Albin (Adeline) Juranek, Bellwood; Mrs. James (Kathryn) Sabata and Mrs. Eugene (Angela) Bruner, Lincoln, and Henrietta, who preceded her father in death. Other survivors his wife, Josie; one sister, Mrs. Martin Van Ert, Tilden; and five brothers, Frank of Lincoln, John of Omaha, Louie of Valparaiso, and Henry and Charles of Weston. One sister and two brothers preceded him in death, as well as his parents. Attending the services from away were relatives from Lincoln, Omaha, Weston, Valparaiso, Linwood and Schuyler.
