The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), July 4, 1957, p. 4, col. 4 Mrs. Josephine Kadavy Services Held June 24 On Monday, June 24, funeral services were conducted at St. Mary's Catholic Church, David City, for Mrs. Josephine Kadavy, 62, who died June 20 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln, following a lingering illness. The Rev. Verness Ketter officiated, and members of St. Mary's Altar Society attended the services in a group. Pallbearers were Bohumil Jirovsky, Anton, James and Louis Kadavy, Ray Jisa, and Adolph Dudek. Burial was in St. Luke's Catholic cemetery, Loma. Coming from a distance to attend the funeral were relatives and friends from Weston, Seward, Lincoln, Dwight, Bruno, Linwood, Hickman, Brainard, Valparaiso, and California. Josephine Langbauer, daughter of Jacob and Katherine Langbauer, was born March 16, 1895, at Bee. She was married to Paul Kadavy on June 20, 1916, at Dwight. Seven children were born to this union. The family resided on a farm near Loma until November 1949 when they moved to David City. Surviving Mrs. Kadavy are five daughters and one son, Mrs. Henry (Mildred) Sabata, Mrs. James (Kathryn) Sabata and Ernest Kadavy of Lincoln, Mrs. Albin (Adeline) Juranek of Bellwood, Mrs. James (Josephine) Belsan of Dwight, and Mrs. Eugene (Angelyn) Bruner of Monterey, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Dudek of Valparaiso, Mrs. Frank (Rose) Jirovsky of Seward, and Mrs. Mike (Carrie) Jisa of Dwight. Preceding her in death were her husband, Paul, her parent, a brother, and one daughter, Henrietta. ____ p. 7, col. 5 CARD OF THANKS - We sincerely express our thanks to the relatives, friends and neighbors for the kindness and sympathy shown us during illness and at the time of death of our loving mother and grandmother.
