''''''''''''''''''' The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), August 28, 1969, p. 3, col. 5 Services Held At Loma For Mrs. Vlach Mrs. Mary Vlach, 95, died Monday, Aug. 18, at her home on a farm near Loma. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Aug. 21, at St. Luke's Catholic Church at Loma. Father Michael Danko officiated at the service and St. Luke's choir provided music. The Rosary Society attened services in a body. Pallbearers were Richard Potter, Robert Potter, Benjamin Potter, Ermin Benes, Joe Kolar and James Vacek. Burial was in St. Luke's Catholic Cemetery. Out of town relatives in attendance were from Omaha, Central City, Valparaiso, Prague and Agnew. Mrs. Vlach, the daughter of James and Mary Houdek, was born Oct. 29, 1874, at Caslava, Czechoslovakia, and came to this country at the age of 16. On April 4, 1893, she was married to John Vlach at St. Wenceslaus Church in Omaha. They were the parents of nine children. Mrs. Vlach was a seamstress and a member of the Catholic churh, the Rosary Society and the Altar Society. She is survived by two sons, Joe and Charles Vlach of Dwight; and three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Potter, Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Patocka and Mrs. Frank (Helen) Dvorak, all of Valparaiso. She was preceded in death by her husband, four children, her parents and one brother.
