Truman Wade was born the son of Harvey Surestus Wade and Emma Maud Salter in Upshur Co., Texas. He was married to Jo Willie Green (1926-2013) and they had three children, Randy Paul Wade (1952- ), Wally Brit Wade (1954-1954) and Ginger Kay Wade (1956-1956). At the time of his death he had two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Wade was the owner of WadeCo.Inc. in Houston, Texas, a Baptist Minister, Sunday School Teacher and Nursing Home Minister until a short time before his death. He lived most of his adult life in Houston and after his retirement returned to live 2 1/2 miles south of Gilmer on Highway 271 on land previously owned by James Clifton (Cliff) Langford and next to his brother Ellis Whitfield Wade. He delighted in his retirement in farming and during his life traveled extensively around the world including to Israel where he visited many of the Bible's sites, China, Egypt and many other places. He enjoyed at times gold hunting as his great-grandfather did as a gold miner in the 1800's, Whitfield Wade and Joseph Berry Wade in Dahlonega, Ga. He built an amazing multiple story building on his homeplace near Gilmer "just for fun". He was a generous and good man.
