Bio
Georgie Hejny, age 90, passed away on November 18, 2008 at Ennis Regional Medical Center. She was born in Ennis on January 24, 1918 to John and Josephine Vrana and was married to Ernest Hejny. Georgie was a life time member of St. John Catholic Church and a member of KJZT and the St. John Altar Society. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Zhanel; son, Mark Hejny; three grandchildren, Jason Zhanel and his wife Stacey, Sarah Zhanel, and Jacob Zhanel and his wife Ruth Ann; two great grandchildren, Cole Pliener and Zoe Zhanel; sisters, Antonia Kubin and Justine Vrla; and numerous nieces and nephews. Georgie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; parents, John and Josephine Vrana; daughter, Joann Hejny; son, Ernie Hejny; brothers, John and Joe Vrana; sisters, Mary Prachyl, Julia Prachyl, Frances Maliska, Agnes Spaniel, and Rosie Svehlak. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10 AM on Friday, November 21, 2008 at St. John Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Ennis.
