An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Thursday, December 25, 1975: T. J. Moore, 59-year-old Gatesville carpenter, died in the local hospital Monday morning shortly after suffering an apparent heart attack. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Gatesville Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. E. A. Hendricks officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery. Mr. Moore was born in Coryell County April 21, 1916, and lived here all his life except for a tour of duty in the U.S. military forces during World War II. He was married to Miss Reba Edwards on May 19, 1933, and he was a member of the Mountain Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Joe Dale Moore, Alton Earl Moore and J. T. (Jake) Moore, all of Gatesville; six sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Moran of Hamilton, Mrs. Dora Harrington of Gatesville, Mrs. Jewel Thurman of Buffalo Gap, Mrs. Lillie Bell Kirk of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Wilfred McKinney of Andrews and Mrs. Nora Massingill of Colorado City; and nine grandchildren, Cleva Dale, Clara, Robert, Teddy, Michelle, Melissa, Nicky, Becky and Jakie Moore, all of Gatesville. Pallbearers for Mr. Moore's funeral were Alvin Howard, Sam McLeroy, Bob Fisher, Loraine Baize, John Key and Jimmy West. Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Hodges and Homer Baize.
