An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Thursday, August 20, 1970: Mrs. John G. Geiselbrecht died at 7 p. m. Thursday at her home in The Grove. She was 68 and had been preceded in death only the day before by her mother, Mrs. J. H. Ayres, also of The Grove. Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Saturday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Wright Price officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery. Mrs. Geiselbrecht was born Ethel May Ayres July 14, 1902, in Coryell County. She married Mr. Geiselbrecht in January of 1920. They made their home near Flat and for the last 13 years had lived at The Grove. Survivors include her husband; one son, Lloyd Geiselbrecht of Irving; one brother, Will Ayres of Waco; three sisters, Mrs. C. A. Patterson of Route 1, Gatesville, Mrs. Daisy James of Texas City and Mrs. Arvine Parson of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers for Mrs. Geiselbrecht's funeral services were A. E. Barr, A. J. Smith; S. H. James, Willie Joe Edwards, R. T. Wall and E. P. Spurlin.
