Bio

Myrtle Irene Ames Terkelson, of Ogden, age 85, passed away on April 20, 1990 in Ogden of natural causes. She was born June 18, 1904 in Moroni, Utah, the daughter of Reuben K. and Helena Petersen Ames. Married Carl P. Terkelson on May 3, 1924 in Manti, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away on March 17, 1969. Lived in Salt Lake City, Draper, and Sandy prior to moving to Ogden in 1944. She was a member of the Ogden Third Ward, where she was an active member of the Relief Society. She served as homemaking director for four years; she was a counselor in the Relief Society presidency for two years; she was a visiting teacher. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Carlos R., Bud R. and Dick W., Mr. and Mrs. Karl (Adell) Rackham and Ms. Karen Tafoya, all of Ogden; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Florence Terkelson, Salt Lake City; Leora Burnham, Mountain View, California; and Vida Ernstsen, Salt Lake City. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 23, 1990 at 1:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Boulevard. Friends may call on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
