The water supply came chiefly from springs, sometime quite a distance from the house. The digging of wells was frequently attempted during their time." ...... Baker, however, to his brother? 1850 Census shows Thomas was 7 [abt. 1843] Anderson, Warrick, Indiana 1860 Census Thomas, age 18; Columbia, Gibson, Indiana 1 Jul 1863 Civil War Reg Card ~ unmarried age 20 1870 Census Thomas, age 28 from Indiana, [the same person?] he went to Burlington, Coffey, Kansas; Interred Spouse Mary Baker of Kentucky, age 17 1880 Census Thomas U. Baker, boarder, age 35, married [to who?], home in Anderson, Warrick, Indiana No marriage lic found on them. Charles Baker....1855-1937, not the same Charles below. Thomas resided at, 1 Jul 1863, age 20, unmarried, Anderson, Warrick, Indiana; was married to someone in Skelton Township. Why was Martha buried with Thomas? Nobody knows! He died May 12th 1897. To this union 6 children were born of whom 3 are still living, William, Joseph, and Allie. She died June 12th, 1903 at Woodmere.
