Mrs. Swearingen Rites Monday Funeral services for Mrs. Bertie Swearingen, 78, native of Navarro county, were held Monday at 2 p. m. from the Corley Chapel with burial in Oakwood cemetery. The rites were conducted by Rev. Jim Gayle, pastor of the Calvary Baptist church. Mrs. Swearingen died in Memorial hospital Saturday. Surviving are three sons; Shellie Swearingen, Houston; Cleo Swearingen, Lafayette, La., and Thomas Swearingen, Jr., Pittsburg, Calif.; two daughters; Mrs. Evalon Odom, Odessa, and Mrs. Mildred Daniels, Houston; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two sisters; Mrs. John Jones and Mrs. B. L. Goodin, both of Mexia; five brothers, Albert Gentsch, San Antonio; Homer Gentsch, Gladewater; Roy Gentsch, Dallas; Luther Gentsch, Chandler, Arizona, and Everett Gentsch, Corsicana, and other relatives.
