Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent August, 1996 BROKEN BOW -- Salomea "Sally" Berniece Graczyk, 92, of Broken Bow died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 1996, at Sandhills Manor Nursing Home in Broken Bow. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Broken Bow. The Rev. Robert Rooney will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Oconto... Mrs. Graczyk was born on Oct. 26, 1903, at Farwell ato Frank and Cecelia (Stenka) Kosmicki. She attended school through the sixth grade. She married Walter P. Graczyk on Nov. 12, 1918. They farmed near Ashton before moving to a farm in the Oconto area in 1919. They moved to a farm near Callaway in 1936 and purchased a farm near Sumner in 1945. Mrs. Graczyk raised big gardens, tended livestock and helped in the fields. She was a talented seamstress and loved to embroider and crochet. After her husband's death in 1961, she and her sister, Tecla, moved to Broken Bow where they lived until shortly before their deaths. She was a member of St. Jospeph's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Broken Bow and had also belonged to St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Eddyville. Survivors include one son, Edmund of Sumner; two daughters, Victoria Farritor of Ravenna and Angela "Nellie" O'Brien of Broken Bow; 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Helen; two sisters and three brothers. Contributor: diaNEB (47466150)
