Bio

Mrs. Martha Ann Friedel Ward Funeral services for Martha Annie Ward, age 79, of Yoakum, were held today, Wednesday, July 27, 1994, at 10 a.m at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles Sonnier officiated with interment in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Ward died on July 25, 1994. A native of DeWitt County, she was born on February 13, 1915, to the late John and Mollie Theresa Erdelt Friedel. She was a farmer, rancher, homemaker, and a member ot the KJZT Society and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include four daughters, Louse Templin, Houston, Mary Ann Sternadel, Goliad, and Arlene Honc and Angelia Fikac, both of Yoakum; one son, David Wayne Ward, Houston; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, James "Alex" Ward; two sons, Edgar and James Lee Ward; two brothers, George and Edmund Friedel; one grandson, Logan Sternadel; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Edward Templin, Walter Sternadel, Leon Honc, David Ward, Bobby Fikac, and Todd Ward. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Endowment Fund.
