(Thanks to Find A Grave Contributor #47028758) Fritz Ritter, 32, living south of Sartoria, on the Kreitzer farm, was accidentally killed Tuesday, being kicked and trampled to death by a team of horses. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon, at two o'clock from the United Brethren church at Pleasanton. (complete article, Kearney Hub, March 25, 1931, page 8) Fritz Ritter, son of Rudolph and Anna Hoffman Ritter, was born on his parents' farm near Pleasanton on March 12, 1898. His twin sister, Martha, died at birth. Frederick married Bertha Kreitzer, December 28, 1921. Although Fritz farmed, he also worked on the railroad and played in the pit of vaudeville houses. His mail was addressed to "Cornet Player", Pleasanton, Nebraska. Fritz and Bertha had one son, Rogers, who married Marlene Hill of Kearney. Their sons are Jim, Bill, and Mark.
