Bio

Elizabeth "Betty" Deiterman, age 81 of West, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Wednesday morning, March 7, 2001 at her residence, surrounded by family and her beloved pet, Tippy. A rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family received visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Deiterman was born on February 13, 1920 in Dallas, the daughter of John and Mary Prasifka. She married Joseph W. Deiterman on June 15, 1937 in Tours. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1996. She was a housewife and a licensed vocational nurse, working several years at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in Waco and West Rest Haven. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829, both in West. She is survived by two sons, Anthony Deiterman of Tomball and Thomas Deiterman of Pasadena; three daughters, Mary Ann Weaver of Waco, Catherine Daughett of Blue and Cynthia Cunningham of Carpinteria, California, one sister, Mary Schroeder of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her beloved pet, Tippy; several nieces and nephews and many caring friends. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice, P.O. Box 5100, Waco, TX 76708. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
