Frank Paul Prasifka, age 85, of West, died Sunday evening, May 12, 1991 in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday, by Msgr. George Doskocil, in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mr. Prasifka was born August 2, 1905 near Ennis. He moved to West in 1947 where he was employed as a salesman for West Flour Mill for over 20 years. He also worked several years as a salesman for Ideal Hatchery of Cameron, Texas. He subsequently was self-employed selling commercial cooling systems throughout Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Upon his retirement he began growing a variety of flowers in a backyard greenhouse. This in time turned into a small business and once again he was dealing with the public, something he dearly enjoyed. He married Ara Louise Allen in September 1932, and they lived in the West area since 1947. Survivors include his wife of West, a daughter, Louanne Rice of Burleson; three sons, James Prasifka of Houston, David Prasifka of Wimberly and Chris Prasifka and daughter-in-law Denise of Dallas; three sisters, Mary Schroeder and Julia Prasifka, both of Dallas, and Betty Deiterman of West; a brothers, Louis Preasifka of Dallas; and six grandchildren, John Rice of Baton Rouge, La., Brian Prasifka of Austin, Jarrad Prasifka of Wimberly and Michelle, Laura and Kathryn Prasifka all of Dallas. Active pallbearers were John Deiterman of Waco, Daniel Deiterman of West, John P. Sulak of West, Roman Srubar of West, Tim Prasifka of Dallas and Jack Culpepper of Red Oak.
