Mrs. Eddie (Annie) Hlavaty, age 75, of West died Sunday afternoon in a West hospital. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery of West. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Hlavaty was born July 12, 1907, in the West area. She had lived in the Abbott area for 40 years and in West since 1964. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of American, the KJZT Society 11. She was an organist and a CCD instructor at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott for a number of years. Mrs. Hlavaty was married to Eddie Hlavaty on Nov. 24, 1925, in West. Survivors include her husand; two sons, Bernard J. Hlavaty, Sr. of Arlington and Lawrence A. Hlavaty of Bellmead; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Johnny Mazanec, Jerry Kucera, Bernard Hlavaty, Jr., Stephen Schneider, Andrew Hlavaty, and C.J. Hlavaty. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
