John Anton Recek, age 69., of Fort Worth, passed away Monday, June 8, in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, the Rev. Bob Hajovsky as celebrant. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Recek was a native of West. He was born here September 6, 1911. He was a member of SPJST, of St. Peters Catholic Church of Fort Worth, and was employed as a machinist at Double Seal Ring Co. in Fort Worth for about 26 years. He married Catherine Uptmore in West, July 15, 1930. They celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Catherine U. Recek of Fort Worth; one son, Johnny Lee Recek of West; one daughter, Mrs. Nona Jean Kapczynski of Houston; one brother, Anton Recek of LaGrange; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Nehring of Waco and Mrs. Lillian Machac of Houston; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Pallbearers were Mark Recek, Michael Recek, Vincent F. Kapczynski, Larry Uptmore, Ernest (Inky) Uptmore and Billy Gene Scott.
