Bio
Dolores J. (Holacka) Tobola, 92, passed away at her home in Grand Prairie, TX on February 3, 2021. She was born on November 3, 1928 in West, TX. She grew up on a cotton farm in Cottonwood and graduated from West High School. Dolores married Henry Tobola, and they moved to Grand Prairie as newlyweds in 1948. She raised six children and was a homemaker, seamstress, chauffeur, and teacher. Dolores was also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grand Prairie for 72 years and active in Altar Society, Women's Guild, PTA, Silver Leaves Senior Group, and a Rectory volunteer. She was once employed by the Electric Company, Hooper-Holmes Portamedic, and Dillard's. Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Tobola, sister, Marge Haberl, and her parents, Frank and Julia Holacka. Survivors include children: Candace Mason Nelson, Mark Tobola, Melanie Tobola, Brit Tobola and wife, Sandy, Tyce Tobola, Holli Beth Oakley and husband, Dan, eight grandchildren: Aimee, Mindy, Brandi, Bethany, Dane, Trent, Kale, and Gage, nine great-grandchildren, sister, Barbara Snelson of Abilene, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be February 8, 2021 at Grand Prairie Funeral Home from 5 pm - 9 pm with rosary at 7 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on February 9, 2021 at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Grand Prairie with Father Joseph Trinh and Monsignor Henry Petter of Coppell. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery in West, TX officiated by Msgr. Henry Petter. Pallbearers are Dane Oakley, Trent Tobola, Kale Oakley, Gage Oakley, Jake Battenfield, and Kurt Vandever.
