John L. Sykora, 47, passed away suddenly at 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon at his home near Ross following a heart attack. Funeral services were conducted at Aderhold Chapel Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock with the Rev. George Doskocil officiating. Rosary was recited at Aderhold Chapel Monday evening. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Sykora was born on the Sykora family homeplace near Ross on September 2, 1905 and had lived there all his life. He attended grade school at Ross, graduated from West High School in 1923 and attended Baylor University. He had been actively associated with the Texas Department of Agriculture and with PMA activities all over the state from offices at College Station, and continued to operate the farm on which he lived up to his death. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Esther Sykora; a son, A-2c Kenneth Sykora of Moody Air Force Base, Georgia; and two sisters, Miss Ann Sykora of Ross and Mrs. Sophie Marie McNeill of Waco. Pallbearers were John Jaska, Walter Zahiradnik, Louis Urbanovsky, Ewalt Pfeffer, Charlie Schutza and Raymond Hruska.
