Bio

Mrs. Ben A. (Georgie) Sykora Schroeder, 64, of Ross, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 1984, at her residence. Rosary was recited Sunday, Sept. 30th, at 7 p.m. at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in We3st, with Rev. B.J. Zientek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Schroeder was born July 23, 1920, in Hill County. She lived in the Penelope area for about 50 years. She moved to Ross about 6 years ago. Mrs. Schroeder was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, SPJST Lodge No. 66 and KJZT Society No. 11. She worked for Lorch Manufacturing Co. in West for a number of years. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Henrietta) Charanza of Arlington; three stepdaughters, Delores Sherwood of San Antonio, Jeanette Griffin of China Spring and Cathy Patterson of West; four stepsons, Donald Ray Schroeder of Teague, Kenneth Schroeder of Ross, John Lee Schroeder of Leroy and Larry Schroeder of Irving; a sister, Mrs. Ivan (Hattie) Svrcek of West; four grandchildren; and 15 step-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Donald Ray Schroeder, Bernard Lenart, Sr., Alton Remmers, Sr., John Lee Girard, Kenneth Schroeder, and John Lee Schroeder.
