Vaclav J. (Wesley) Sulak, age 82 of West, passed away Thursday evening, November 9, 2000 in Providence Hospital. Rosary was recited 1:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 1:45 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West, conducted by V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West. Mr. Sulak was born May 28, 1918 in Penelope and had lived in the West area most of his life. He was a retired plumber and he had been employed with Civil Service, working at James Connally and Carswell Air Force Bases for a number of years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy with the Engineering Division, also a member of the Seabees, member of the V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West and the West American Legion. Mr. Sulak married Willie Mae Gerik October 14, 1940 in West and she preceded him in death on July 30, 1984. He is survived by one son, Dr. Wesley J. Sulak and his wife Tanya of Whitney; one daughter, Janet Farek and her husband Patrick of Axtell; one sister, Victoria (Doris) King of West; five grandchildren, Laura Hancock, Sandra Plumb, Gina Strebeck, Mindy Farek and Neil Farek and three great-grandchildren. Active Pallbearers were Gerald Barak, Neil Farek, Jerry Girard, Russ Wilsey, Floyd Wolf and Clifford Archer. Honorary Pallbearers were members of V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West.
