Mrs. Stanislav, 64, Dies Saturday After Brief Illness Mrs. Agnes Stanislav passed away at Providence Hospital in Waco Saturday following a weeks illness. Death came to the 64-year-old West resident exactly one week after she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage at her home. She was born Agnes Kallus, daughter of Joseph and Teresa Kallus, at Hallettsville in 1890, and came to West with her parents some 50 years ago. She was married to John E. Stanislav, prominent West farmer and ginner, in 1908. They had lived on a farm five miles west of town before moving to West in 1928. Mr. Stanislav was a long-time manager of Farmers Gin Co. before his death on July 23, 1951. Mrs. Stanislav was active in religious life of Assumption Church as a member of its KJZT, Altar Rosary and Catholic Daughter Societies. She served the Altar Society as treasurer for 15 years. In his eulogy of Mrs. Stanislav, Rev. E.J. Polcak praised the devotion she held for family life. Although childless, Mrs. Stanislav had been almost a mother to the 4-year-old twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Stanislav, Joan and Mary Jane, before and after their mother's death in 1952. Rosary services for Mrs. Stanislav were conducted at Aderhold Chapel Sunday evening. Final rites of the Catholic Church were intoned at a High Requiem Mass at Assumption Church Monday a 9 a.m. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Survivors include two brothers, Louis and Frank Kallus, both of Abbott and a sister, Mrs. Robert Hanak of Hallettsville. Pallbearers were Leonard Stanislav, Jerry Stanislav, Harry Bezdek, Ben Kallus, Albin Kallus and Alfred Stanislav.
