Bio

Irene Haidusek Scott, age 77, formerly of West, passed away Thursday, May 23, 1996 at her home in San Antonio. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. May 25 at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1:30 p.m. May 26 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek, as celebrant. Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Scott was born February 1, 1919 in West. She graduated from West High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin. She returned to West and taught school at Cottonwood. She moved to Austin and married James Noyes Scott in 1954. He preceded her in death November 30, 1982. She was employed at the American National Bank of Austin. The Scotts moved to San Antonio where she was an officer at the Mercantile National Bank. Irene was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of San Antonio, the K.J.Z.T. Society #11 of West and the Czech Heritage Society. Survivors include one brother, Alois D. Haidusek and wife Joann of Fort Worth; four sisters, Malvina Howard of West, Sister Mary Martin Haidusek, C.D.P. and Sister Irene Marie Haidusek, C.D.P. both of San Antonio, and Mrs. Molly Jane Reed and Jack Reed of El Paso, and dear friend, Melvin Speir. Surviving nieces and nephews are Phillip Howard and wife, Jan, Robert Howard and wife Alma, Claudia Howard, Kenneth Haidusek and wife Barbara, Edward Lee Haidusek and wife Renee, Michael Haidusek and wife Cheryl, Bernice Crocker and husband Mark, Debbie Phifer and husband Don, Jackie Lynn Reed and Irene Amalia Reed. Surviving grandnieces and nephews are Flip Taylor and Stephen Howard; Tiffany, Robert and David Haidusek; Matthew, Jonathan and Brandon Crocker; Natasha, Christopher and Rebecca Haidusek; Michael Chester and Nathan Haidusek; and Alexis and Andrew Phifer. Active Pallbearers were Phillip Howard, Robert Howard, Kenneth Haidusek, Edward Lee Haidusek, Michael Haidusek and Irene Reed. Honorary pallbearers were Claudia Howard, Bernice Crocker, Jackie Lynn Reed and Debbie Phifer. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
