Requiem Mass Held Monday For A.F. Schroeder Alphonse F. Schroeder, 67, of West, died Saturday morning in the West hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:45 p.m. Sunday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Schroeder was born Nov. 18, 1905 in Leroy. He had lived in the West and Leroy area all of his life. He was a retired civil service employee and was employed at Snokhous Plumbing Company for the past three and a half years. Mr. Schroeder was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bill Schroeder of Waco; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (JoAnn) Thedford of Abilene; two brothers, Andrew Schroeder of Tours and Bill Schroeder, Sr. of Waco; four sisters, Mrs. Ed Bettge of Leroy, Mrs. Jack Bettge of Waco, Mrs. Fred Uptmor, Sr., and Mrs. Bob Tichavsky, both of Tours, and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Willie Snokhous, Johnny Kubala, Royce Zatopek, Tony Sulak, Fred Uptmor and Francis Bettge. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 82, No. 47, Edition 1, Friday, March 9, 1973, page 1.
