Bio

Pioneer of Elk Claimed by Death Mrs. Katherine Pechacek, 67, a resident of the Elk community for 50 years, passed away at the Providence sanitarium, Waco, on Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. Funeral services were held from the home of J. J. Hejl, Ross, at 9 a.m., and at the Catholic church here at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, Rev. E. J. Polcak officiating. The interment was at the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Pechacek was born in Czechoslovakia and moved to the United States when she was 16 years of age. She settled with her family in the Elk community, where she lived until her death.
