Mrs. Harry (Martha) Marak, age 79 of West, passed away Friday evening, April 6, 2001 at West Rest Haven. A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Marak was born October 10, 1921 in Abbott, the daughter of Joe and Amelie Kral. She married Harry N. Marak on October 19, 1942 in West. She was a housewife and helped her husband farm for 46 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829 and KJZT Society No. 11. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Uptmore, who died on September 5, 1990; two brothers, Joe Kral, Jr. and Eugene Kral and one sister, Agnes Urbanovsky. She is survived by her beloved husband, Harry; two sons, Harry Lee Marak and his wife Debbie and Marty Marak and his wife Cheryl of West; one son-in-law, Alan Uptmore of West; one sister, Vlasta English of San Diego, California; seven grandchildren, Clint Uptmore and his wife Trisha, Ray Uptmore, Amy Uptmore, Chad Marak, Amber Marak, Brandi Marak and Chase Marak and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Stanley Marak, Bob Marak, Raymond Marak, David Holecek, Wendel Donohue and Jerry Winfrey. Honorary pallbearers were Alfred Marak, Arthur Marak, Frankie Marak, Charlie Kubacak, Henry Urbanovsky, Roger English and Bernard Vrbas. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
