The West News, West, Texas, Volume 47, No. 50, Ed. 1 - Friday, May 7, 1937 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Anyone who has not experienced such a sad experience cannot imagine how sorrow and grief will be experienced by his wife and the children, as death is thrown out of their family circle of a dear father and breadwinner, who must leave the age in which man becomes the most useful when his work gets the best results for the family. Shortly before, Bedrich Losak had been preparing his farm for this year's production, and he and his family enjoyed the good progress in their work. Suddenly, however, the illness, which is the precursor and often the death warrant, affected Mr. Losak and told him that he had to leave the work he had so loved and that he had to prepare himself for the most violent and sad step in his life-to death. Bedrich Losak died in the hospital on Monday and was buried in the catholic cemetery on Wednesday for the abundant part of the countrymen who loved and respected the deceased. He was born in Frenstat on 14 February 1891 in Moravia, and in Texas, he lived here since 1904. He lived about 7 miles west of West on a farm he always cared for and had been cared for by his old age family. He was a member of the Oak Grove Council SPJST, which he always cared for. Take it he has always been a leader in all local, federal and national businesses to which he has contributed. The last spiritual service was done for him by E.J. Polcak, both in the church and the cemetery. He leaves behind a grieving wife, one daughter and one son, brother John Losak in Waco and a sister pi. Maria Slovacek in Frenstat, in our old country homeland, to whom we show our condolences and we do not want the earth to be light! Rough translation of Czech obituary
