Joseph Charles Lednicky, age 39, of 1510 N. Reagan in West, passed away late Saturday morning, December 26, 1987 at Providence Hospital in Waco. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption by Raymond Dulock. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 1987 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption with Msgr. Ray Widacki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Mr. Lednicky was born April 12, 1948 in Waco, the son of Jerome and Agnes Lednicky. He was married to Patricia Svacina in West July 11, 1970. He was a graduate of West High School and Texas A&M. He was a certified public accountant. He was vice president in charge of fiscal affairs for the Texas State Technical Institute Systems the last 12 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305 in West, the Texas A&M Former Students Association and the County Line Texas A&M Club. Mr. Lednicky was a member of the West Independent School District Board of Trustees from 1984 to 1987. He was an assistant for the St. Mary’s Mustangs and assistant coach of the West Baseball/Softball League. He also enjoyed playing softball for the Knights of Columbus softball team. Mr. Lednicky was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption. He served in the Army Reserves for eight years before entering the United States Army, where he served as a second lieutenant of field artillery before being promoted to first lieutenant in 1970. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lednicky of West; his mother, Mrs. Jerome J. Lednicky, Sr. of West; one son, Timothy Lednicky of West; four daughters, Valerie Lednicky, Emily Lednicky, Katherine Lednicky, and Jodie Lednicky all of West; three brothers, Jerome J. Lednicky, Jr. of West, Edward F. Lednicky of Clear Lake, and Bernard Lednicky of Hobbs, New Mexico; three sisters, Mrs. Dan (Elizabeth) Schiller of Brenham, Mrs. David (Patricia) Patton of Garland and Mrs. Jack (Agnes) Inman of Aloha, Oregon; several nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces. Pallbearers were Jack Crain, Phil Gerik, Ernie Janek, John B. Sulak, Steve Kyzar, Raymond Jaska, Eddie Chudej, Eddie Archer, and Alphonse Cocek. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305 and members of the County Line Aggie Club. Aderhold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
