Bio

Henry C. Kolar, 74, of West, passed away Wednesday morning, September 7, 1988 in a Waco hospital. Rosary will be recited at Kotch Funeral Home in West at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 8. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Assumption with Rev. Msgr. R. J. Widacki officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Kolar was born September 15, 1913 in Hill County, the son of Emil and Josephine Kolar. He married Hattie Matus on November 12, 1940. He had been a dairyman, rancher, and a carpenter. During World War II he worked for Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego, California. He later worked for General Dynamics in Waco. He worked as a sales representative for RVOS Insurance until his death. He was a member of Church of the Assumption in West where he served as usher for many years. He was past president of KJT #31 in West and he has served on the Board of Directors of West Fraternal Auditorium since its inception. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Geraldine) Laubert of West; two sons, Roger Kolar of Austin and David Kolar of West; one brother, Louis Kolar of Waco; four sisters, Mrs. John J. (Georgia) Pustejovsky of Abbott, Mrs. Alfred (Josephine) Meinzer, Sr., of Dallas, and Mrs. William (Lucille) Schroeder and Mrs. Albin (Adele) Matus, Sr., both of Waco; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
