Eugene Hrabal, Sr., age 61, of Rt. 1, Bruceville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 5, 1990 in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Friday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marlin with Rev. Leonard Leddy, as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mr. Hrabal was born February 7, 1929 in Ross and had lived in McLennan County most of his life and at Mooreville for the past 27 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marlin and the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council #4329 of Marlin, the Msgr. J.J. Kearns Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council of Waco, S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #6, and the Sheriff's Association; he was also a farmer and a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his wife, Naomi, of Bruceville; three sons, Eugene Hrabal, Jr., Chris and Tim Hrabal, all of Rt. 2, Lott; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Eileen) Lewis of Rt. 2, Lott; one brother, Eddie Ray Hrabal of Rt. 2, West; three sisters, Mrs. Al (Georgia) Soukup of Robinson, Mrs. Angie Grooms of Rt. 1, Bruceville and Mrs. Don (Irene) Reeves of DeSoto; and 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Dale Terry Soukup, Vince Hrabal, Stephen Hrabal, Mark Kocian and JImmy Lewis. Honorary pallbearers were Walter Kocian, Larry Kocian, Eddie Kocian, Ryan Hrabal, Nathan Hrabal, Jeff Lemley, Michael Lewis and Donnie Reeves.
