Bio

Mrs. Nora Holacka, age 93 of West, passed away early Monday morning, July 15, 2002 in West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 2:15 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Holacka was born November 2, 1909 in Penelope and had lived in West since 1947. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. Mrs. Holacka, the former Nora Knapek, married Willie Holacka October 22, 1929 in Penelope. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Ed Knapek and three sisters, Matilda Sykora, Christine Sykora and Albina Kubala. Mrs. Holacka is survived by a daughter, Georgia Ann Kramr and husband Louis of Houston; brother, Ben Knapek of Penelope and Raymond Knapek of Axtell; sisters, Mary Bartosh and Olga Hutyra of West; grandchildren, Judy Castille and husband Ralph of Midland, Jackie McBride and husband Greg of Houston and John Kramr and wife Deanne of Cedar Park; great-grandchildren, Kirby, Logan, Shannon and Rachael Castille, Aaron and Daniel McBride, Austin, Madison, Cameron and Colin Kramr, and several nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers were Kirby Castille, Logan Castille, Aaron McBride, Austin Kramr, Gregg McBride and John Kramr. The family received visitors at Kotch Funeral Home, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
