Bio

Louis F. Cepak, age 52, of Rt. 1 Abbott died July 6 at West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. July 7 by the Rev. Melvin Dornak in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. July 8 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mr. Cepak was born February 18, 1943, at Chatt, in Hill County and had lived in Hill County most of his life. He graduated from West High School in 1962. He married Evelyn Slovak on November 26, 1966, at Abbott. Mr. Cepak had been employed at Nemecek Bros. in West for the past 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, the Knights of Columbus Council #2305, the K.J.T. Society #31, the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #54 and the Czech Heritage Society. Mr. Cepak is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Rt. 1, Abbott; one son, Paul Cepak of West; two daughters, Veronica Cepak of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Christine Cepak of Waco; one brother, Marvin Cepak of Waxahachie; one sister, Rose Marie Hlavenka of Spring and a brother-in-law, Robert Pavelka of Rt. 1, Abbott. Active pallbearers were David Girard, Lawrence Girard, Mark Lichnovsky, Robert Hlavenka and Shannon Pavelka. Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Nemecek Bros.
