Pine Bluff Commercial, Thursday, October 16, 1975, Page 20: Obit.—Silas Edgar Tidwell, 87, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday at Jefferson Hospital. He was a retired conctracter. He was a native of Rock Springs (Drew County), the son of the late Samuel Jackson and Ursula Elizabeth Perry Tidwell. He was served in the Navy. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias. He was a member of the Church of Christ at 4700 West 28th Avenue. Survivors include two sons, Edgar L. Tidwell of San Diego and Thomas LeRoy Tidwell of Pine Bluff; four daughters, Mrs. Roma Taylor of Pine Bluff, Mrs. Ethel Mae Hungerford of Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Carolyn R. Grimes of Houston and Mrs. Norma Drake of Procterville, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Roma Cloud of Castor, Louisiana; 13 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at South Funeral Home by Walton Weaver. Burial will be in Fitzhugh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Underwood, Mack Lutrell, Richard Turner, Allen Ply, Jack Watson and Fred Devine. The family request that memorials take the form of donations to the American Heart Fund.
