Mary Ann Gatlin, 60, of Whitney, passed away Nov. 14, 2009, at her residence. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Marshall & Marshall Chapel in Whitney, with the Rev. Ed Karasek of the Saint Mary Church of the Assumption, of West, officiating. Interment will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by visitation at the funeral home. Mary Ann was born in Waco, Texas, to Willie J. and Mary Ann Laubert Miller. She grew up in West and married Monte Gatlin on April 14, 1973. She was a member of Saint Mary Church of the Assumption in West. Preceding her in death was her husband, on Nov. 23, 1996; son, Tyrel Gatlin; father, Willie J.; brothers, Billie Joe and Jerry Miller, and in-laws, Nelson and Louise Gatlin. Survivors include her daughters, Amanda Gatlin, and Christina Scattergood and husband, John, of Whitey; sons, Darrell Gatlin and Mathieu Gatlin, both of Whitney; mother, Mary Miller, of West; brothers, James Miller and wife, Patricia, of Hillsboro, Roger Miller, of Red Oak, Robert Miller and wife, Susan, of Hillsboro, and Patrick Miller, of West; sister, Ganora Miller and fiancé, Freddy Burleson, of Waco; and many other family members and friends.
