Bio

Odessa Juanita Stricklan was born at Thackerville, OK on May 1, 1918 the daughter of Oscar Carl Brush and Francis Matilda Myers Brush. She passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta, at the age of 95. A resident of Thackerville most of her life, Mrs. Stricklan had made her home in Marietta for the past 21 years. She attended school at Thackerville and was then employed by Linda Jo Shoe Company for 17 years, Weber Aircraft five years and Green Thumb seven years before retiring. She and Curtis Stricklan were married in Marietta on October 19, 1935, and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1995. The couple enjoyed going to the lakes fishing and camping with family and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Stricklan accepted Christ and were baptized in Blue Lake by Bro. Clovis Scivally. Mrs. Stricklan was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Thackerville. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shirley Wilson on June 20, 2013; grandson, Brandon Robertson on October 23, 1992; four brothers, Weaver, Pender, Cleo and Felix Brush; five sisters, Letha Adair, Bertha Hobson, Lennie Stricklan, Inez Wigley and Evie Brush; and nephew, Delbert Pope. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jerry Harper of Marietta and Patti and Larry Robertson of Wilson, OK; sister, Lorene Mitchusson of Thackerville; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
