Wife of Lloyd E. Pickle and mother of Deborah Kay Pickle. ATHENS — Services for Berniece L. Pickle, 84, of Athens, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2006, in the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Godwin officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Pickle died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, in an Athens nursing home. She was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Florence to the late James Walter and Bernice Jewell Lawson Young. Berniece formally resided in Dallas for 28 years and was employed for 25 years as an accountant for the Henry C. Beck Company. In 1978, she and her husband moved to Athens and opened Frames & Things, a custom framing and fine art shop. In 2002, they closed the business and retired. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Loyd E. Pickle of Athens; daughter, Deborah Kay Debinet of Reddington Beach, Fla.; brother, James Walter Young, Jr. of Grand Prairie; and numerous nieces. Pallbearers will include Robert Pickle, Durwood Pickle, Merwin Pickle and Ernest Carroll Pickle.
