Bio

Wednesday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Mr. Pickle died March 4, 2007, in Athens. He was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Eustace to Walter Chesley and Ollie Leona Honeycutt Pickle. He resided for 28 years in Dallas, and was employed 30 years at LTV in Grand Prairie. He moved to Athens in 1978, opening "Frames and Things by the Pickles." He served in the Navy during World War II and was a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece L. Young Pickle, July 5, 2007; five brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include daughter, Deborah Kay Debinet, Redington Beach, Fla.; sisters, Dorothy Powell, Odessa, Helen Noble, Fort Worth; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Pickle, Durwood Pickle, Merwin Pickle and Ernest Carroll Pickle. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
