The Fairfield Auxiliary (Fairfield, NE), Thursday, May 1, 1919; pg. 5 Mr. John Lipovsky and Miss Lillian Wolfe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wolfe, were married at the church west of Deweese, Monday, April 28th. Monday evening, a reception and family dinner was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lipovsky will start housekeeping near Spring Ranch, where the groom is engaged in farming. The Auxiliary extends congratulations. ====================================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, October 7, 1965 Funeral services for John Lipovsky of the Lawrence community who died Thursday, were held in Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Deweese on Monday. Father Frank Lieblinger officiated and burial was in St. Martin's cemetery (sic) near Deweese. ========================================== Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, October 7, 1965; pg. 1 JOHN LIPOVSKY OBITUARY Funeral services were held for John Lipovsky, retired farmer, on Monday morning, October 4, at 10 o'clock at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Deweese, Nebraska. Father Frank Leiblinger offered the Requiem High Mass. Mass servers were three grandsons, Robert Lipovsky, Craig Buescher, and John Sekora, and a grandnephew, David Lipovsky. Father Leiblinger also officiated at the burial services in St. Martin's Cemetery. Pallbearers were two grandsons, Kenneth Lipovsky and Michael Karmazin; three nephews, James Lipovsky, Albert Skalka, Jr., and Richard Skalka; and a cousin, Raymond Wolfe. Mr. Lipovsky underwent surgery at the Mary Lanning Hospital, Hastings on August 27. He was able to spend four weeks at home before re-entering the hospital on September 28, where he passed away at 3:20 Thursday morning, September 30, at the age of 74 years, 7 months, and 3 days. His life was dedicated to the wellbeing of his wife and children, whose interest he had ever at heart. He will be greatly missed by them as well as a host of relatives and friends. John Lipovsky, son of John and Antonia Lipovsky, was born on February 27, 1891, on a farm near Pauline, Nebraska. When a year old, they moved to their present farm in Clay County where he lived until his death. He was a lifetime member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. He attended Prairie Rose School and grew to young manhood in that community. He was united in marriage to Lillian Wolfe on April 28, 1919, at St. Martin's Church, and to this union four children were born. The deceased is survived by his wife, Lillian; one son, Edward of Fairfield; three daughter (sic), Mrs. Edward Sekora (Marie) of Nelson, Mrs. Robert Karmazin (Elsie) of Deweese, and Mrs. Donald Buescher (Dorothy) of Lawrence; and 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Antonia Skalka, and one brother, Rudolph Lipovsky. Among those who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Radloff of Clitherall, Minn.; Martin Tesch, Lidgerwood, North Dakota; Frank Lipovsky, Claire City, S. Dakota; Herman Wolfe of Lincoln; Herman Homann, Mr. and Mrs. John Quinn, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Labbs, Elkhorn, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Grimm, Mr. and Mrs. John Zeis of Valley, Nebr.; Mrs. Al Dohse of Gretna; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Menza of Wilber; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Masek of Schuyler; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masek of Valparaiso; and many relatives and friends from Clay Center, Fairfield, Blue Hill, Hastings, Campbell, Superior, Nelson, and Pauline.
