Funeral services for Jessie C. Badgett, Sr., 86, of 412 N. Hedgecoke, are pending with Simpson Funeral Home. Badgett died at approximately 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. He had been a resident of Borger for the past 26 years and was a retired law officer. He was a member of the Gardner St. Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Nancy, of the home; two sons, J.C. Badgett, Jr., 1205 Madison, Borger, and Billie Jack Badgett of Las Vegas, Nev.; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Chambers, White Spur, Tex., Mrs. Ruth Jones, Fort Worth, Mrs. Magee [sic] Lee Askew, Willis, Okla. and Mrs. Louise Samples of Farmington, New Mexico. Hedgecoke, were held at 10:30 a.m. today at Gardner Street Church of Christ with J.R. Chism, minister of the church, officiating. Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday will be in Liberty, Tex., Cemetery under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home. Casketbearers are John Roberts, Lloyd McDonald, Delbert Walling, Connie Malone, R.T. Bearden, and Asa Woodfin. Badgett died at 2 p.m. Saturday in Amarillo St. Anthony's hospital. He was a retired law officer and member of the Gardner St. Church. Surviving are his wife, Esther; two sons, J.C. Badgett, Jr., 1205 Madison; Bill Jack of Las Vegas, Nev.; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Chambers of Sadler, Mrs. Ruth Jones of Kingston, Mrs. Maggie Lee Askew, Willis, Okla., Mrs. Louise Sample, Farmington, N.M.; 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
