Star-Telegram Fort Worth, Texas Thursday, September 20, 1951, page 2 Funeral services for Mrs. I. E. Hightower, 86, former Fort Worth resident, will be conducted here at a date to be announced later. Mrs. Hightower died at 1 a.m. Wednesday in Porterville, Cal., after suffering a heart attack while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Ward Lusk, there. She was a native of Bosque County and since the death of her husband, Rev. I. E. Hightower, three years ago, had been visiting her children. She had been in Porterville about six weeks. Surviving are three sons, Doyle Hightower and W. C. Hightower, both of Fort Worth, and W. R. Hightower of Los Angeles; three other daughters, Mrs. Fleet McDaniel of Dallas, Mrs. T. C. Martin of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Tom Harmon of Porterville; a brother, Lawrence Powell of Cleburne; 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. ********** Star-Telegram Fort Worth, Texas Friday, September 21, 1951, page 20 Funeral services for Mrs. I. E. Hightower, 86, former Fort Worth resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in First Methodist Church. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, Dallas. Mrs. Hightower died Wednesday in Porterville, Cal., after she suffered a heart attack. The family requested that no flowers be sent and that instead donations be made to the Methodist Student Center at the University of Texas.
