Bio

YOAKUM -- Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from St. Joseph Catholic Church for Joe F. Chlastak, 68, of Rt. 3, Yoakum, who died in a local hospital at 4:50 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Al P_dalecki (?) will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A rosary was recited Friday night at Buffington Funeral Home. Mr. Chlastak was born Aug. 25, 1902, in Yoakum. He was a lifelong resident of the city. Survivors include the wife, Annie, of Yoakum; a daughter, Mrs. Joe Machalec of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Adela Weatherford of Ollie, La.; three brothers, John of Huntsville, Jim of Yoakum, Felix of Dodson, La.; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers include Lawrence and Victor Yarla, John and Al Chilek, Lee Pargmann and Gerhardt Gerdes. Victoria Advocate, Saturday, October 17, 1970
