Bio

Della Chlastak Weatherford, age 91 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home. Mrs. weatherford, a loving mother and grandmother was affectionately known as "Grandma Chicken" by her grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and cooking but was the happiest when she was helping others. She was a native of Yokum, Texas and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Winnfield. Mrs. Weatheford's memory will be cherished by her son William E. Weatherford and his wife Laura of Natchitoches, LA.,; daughter Barbara W. Humphrey and her husband Clifton of Jurbise, Belgium,; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Weatheford was preceded in death by her parents Vaclav Joseph Chlastak and Barbara Chilek Chlastak, her husband Earl William Weatherford, one sister Anne, and four brothers, Felix, Joe, Jim, and John. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Winnfield with Father Christian Ogbonna officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home beginning on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.. Friends may also visit with the family in the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Brian Humphrey, Walter Humphrey, Patrick Humphrey, David Fredricks, Jordan Humphrey, and James Weatherford.
