Bio
Tomas Jan Janda or Thomas John Yonda was born Feb 25, 1884, in Plattsmouth, Cass, Nebraska, the eighth child of Anton Janda (May 24, 1848 - Oct 7, 1921) and Marie Prepejchal or Prepejchalova (Aug 15, 1940 - Dec 30, 1892). Both parents immigrated from Austria/Bohemia. Father Anton was born in Bystrice, Vlcatin, Moravia, now the Czech Republic. Thomas married Anna Melkus abt 1904 in Nebraska. She died in 1910 giving birth to their third child. Sometime shortly after, Thomas changed the spelling of his family's name to 'Yonda'. Thomas second married Ida H. NU between 1920 - 1930. He was a boilermaker for the railroad, which took him to Idaho. Thomas John Yonda and Anna (Melkus) Yonda had the following children: -Marie A. (Yonda) Kauffman b. June 22, 1905 in Havelock, Lancaster, Nebraska -Thomas Anthony Yonda b. Aug 19, 1907 in North Platte, Lincoln, Nebraska, d. Jan 13 1993 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri -James Yonda baptised Nov 21, 1910 in North Platte, Lincoln, Nebraska d. Feb 17, 1911 in North Platte, Lincoln, Nebraska
