Kansas City Star, The (MO) - January 15, 1993 Deceased Name: THOMAS A. YONDA Thomas A. YONDA of southwest Kansas City died Jan. 13, 1993, at St. Joseph Health Center. Services will be at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Moriah & Freeman Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, where Masonic services will be at 3 p.m. Mr. YONDA was born in North Platte, Neb., and moved to this area 60 years ago. He was an engineer for the Mobil Oil Corp. for 27 years, retiring in 1972. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Sanford Brown Jr. post of the American Legion. He was a member of the Ivanhoe Masonic Lodge and the Mobil Annuitants Club. He was a member of the Unity Temple on the Plaza. Survivors include his wife, Marian L. YONDA of the home, and a sister, Marie KAUFFMAN, Houston. Thomas Anthony Yonda was the son of Thomas John Yonda or Janda (1884- 1953) of Plattsmouth, Nebraska and Anna Melkus or Chmelkus (1885 - 1910) of Dodge, Nebraska. His mother died during the birth of little brother, James, who did not survive long after birth.
