Bio

Son of Reuben C. Raines and his wife Nancy C. Powell. The family came to Monmouth following the Civil War. Bartlett married Lenora Stewart on 8 February 1878 in Monmouth. They were the parents of two children, son Archie Ozra Raines in 1878, and daughter Maude Mary Raines in 1880. Bartlett committed suicide due to failing health. No mention of his family was made in his death announcement. His wife remarried a few months later to James C. Gentry Jr., in Burlington, Iowa.
