Mass of the Christian Burial for Adolph F. Patak was celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday in St. Johns Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Caldwell as celebrant. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Keever Chapel. Interment was in St Josephs Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. Mr. Patak, 80, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2004, at the Methodist Central Hospital in Dallas. He was born Nov. 11, 1923 in Ennis, the son of Adolph R. and Louise Horak Patak. He was reared in the Ennis area and attended Pear Ridge School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. On Nov. 15, 1949 he was married to Margie Trpak of Ennis. After their marriage they lived in the Creechville Community where he engaged in farming. He was later employed by Lone Star Gas. He was employed by Southern Pacific Trucking as a truck driver for 30 years, retiring in 1980. In 1981 he was employed at Travis Elementary in the Maintenance Dept. for over 20 years. He was a member of St Johns Catholic Church, the KJT, SPJST and the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Margie, of Ennis; a son and his wife, Edward and Sandra Patak of Ennis; 2 daughters, Angie Patak of Ennis, DeAnn and her husband, Sonny Moreno of Waxahachie; 2 brothers and their wives, Albert and Helen Patak of Ennis, Leo and Olga Patak of Dallas; 5 sisters, Clara and her husband, Jerry Walters of Garland, Ruphine Patak of Ennis, Elizabeth Dixon of Ennis, Helen and her husband, Laddie Gajdica of Plano and Alice Tacker of Ft Worth; 4 grandchildren, Megan Patak-Tatro, Matt Patak, Andrew Patak and William Moreno; a great grandchild, Aspen Tatro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Charlene Patak-Salmon, in 1974. The family request memorials be made to the St. Josephs Cemetery Gate Fund.
